All About RV Camping

Camping is one of the best outdoor leisure to experience life with nature. If you want to try camping, but you want to explore places, you can try RV camping.

Recreational vehicle (RV) camping is enjoying your time with nature comfortably. You won't need to pitch a tent, just a parking space for you to set down.

Here I'll tackle the details you need to know and consider before starting your RV adventures.

Without further ado, let's begin.

What is an RV?

A recreational vehicle (RV) is a vehicle that includes essential home equipment.

It typically has beds, a kitchen with built-in storage, stoves, refrigerators, and a comfort room.

It has 2 kinds, namely:

Motorhome

A motorhome is an RV that can be driven. It's self-contained and usually spacious than a caravan or trailer RV.

It's a great investment if you're interested in RV camping. You don't have to worry about driving and parking it.

However, it's costly and needs to be legally registered. In addition, you're required to pay taxes and insurance for it.

Nonetheless, it's a good idea to have a motorhome, especially if you're a camping enthusiast.

Caravan

A caravan is the trailer RV that has to be towed. It's smaller than the built-in motorhomes.

It's simpler, has better insulation, and is flexible. For example, you can use your own common vehicle to get it to places and still use your car for other errands.

The downside of this is it requires great driving skills to safely control its movement.

You also need to find a safe and capacious parking spot for you to settle it down.

You can choose either of these according to your preferences and liking.

What is the average price of an RV and where to buy it?

RV is a type of automobile or a trailer that features common amenities that can be found in a house, such as a kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping space.

Depending on the price, RVs can have additional features such as air conditioning, a water heater, television and satellite receivers, and other luxurious amenities.

The price for an RV in the US ranges from $40,000 to $550,000.

There are different types and classes of RVs which influence their price.

RVs have 3 different classifications; Class A, B, and C. The difference between those 3 is the sizes.

Class A- the largest and the most expensive, recognized for its features similar to a bus. It cost more than the other classes, ranging from about $450,000 to $550,000.

Class B- the body varies based on the manufacturer, but its appearance is similar to a van. It is smaller than Class A; therefore, it costs less, ranging from $200,000 to $300,000.

Class C- is easy to drive and my favorite because it gives off the actual "RV vibe" based on watching movies or television shows when growing up. It cost lower than A and B, ranging from about $40,000 to $200,000.

On the other hand, Caravans has no power of its own, so to move it around, it should be attached behind an automobile to be towed.

This type of RV is the cheapest than Class A, B, and C, ranging from about $15,000 to $50,000.
Overall, the price of an RV really depends on its size and the features included.

You can buy RV from trusted dealers such as Lazydays RV Tampa, RV Trader, and RV Universe.
Most of the cheap RVs are sold online, but make sure that the dealers are legitimate.

In addition, regardless of being brand new or pre-owned, double-check it personally before purchasing. It should be in good condition and safe to use to ensure you will get a proper and worthwhile RV.

Is it safe for camping and traveling?

It's safe for camping and travels, but make sure to check your RV safety standards before hitting the road.

RVs usually have alarms and other safety measures to avoid any hazards when camping.

Be aware of the issues as well that might cause risks, particularly fire and security-related problems.

Always have one or more of these at hand whenever you're going RV camping:

  • alarms
  • fire extinguishers
  • water supply
  • first aid
  • extra care

Also, follow the camping etiquettes, guidelines, and rules of the campgrounds.

It's worth it to have an RV if you often go camping.
Though it might cost a lot initially, you'll see that it can also save you a lot of money after using it several times.
You can also use your RV like a typical car if you're going to places far from your home.
